The Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420 hits the roads next month
The only surprise about the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420 is that Aston Martin has chosen to reveal it today rather than this last weekend at Goodwood. But at least it gives us some supercar news even though Goodwood is over for another year. If you remember the last stripped down, lightened and ‘Superleggera-fied’ Aston Martin Vantage – the V8 Vantage N400 – you’re not going to be struggling too much to work out what’s on offer with the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420.
Kia K9 launches in Korea
Kia’s new range-topping saloon car – the Kia K9 – has launched in Korea and will launch overseas – with a new name – later in 2012. Kia’s most impressive – and certainly most ambitious - new car has launched in Korea and goes on sale today. But it’s extremely unlikely, even with a change of name from Dr Who’s robotic dog, that we’ll see it in the UK.
The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will not be anywhere near as rare as its 1969 namesake when it arrives during the first quarter of next year, but the most powerful production Camaro to date should deliver performance easily worthy of its model designation. Camaro engineers on Thursday offered media members a preview of the upcoming Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 fighter, and the tale of the tape is impressive, especially in terms of grunt. The 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V8 will make 580 hp at 6,000 rpm and 556 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm, besting Chevy's original targets for the engine's output and bettering its efficiency in the Cadillac CTS-V by 24 hp and 5 lb-ft.
